Preschool 2 Group (ages 3 – 6) Monday and Wednesday 9:00 – 11:30
Our Preschool 2 Group is a classroom-based program focused on building language (expressive and receptive), play, social communication, emotional regulation, and classroom skills through evidence-based practices. Our therapists use the SCERTS® Model (Prizant et al.), along with elements from More Than Words and It Takes Two to Talk (The Hanen Center®) and Social Thinking® (Michelle Garcia Winner). This group is ideal for children who may be language delayed, language disordered, autistic, or have challenges with social communication and play skills. Children in this group may also be a good match for our Preschool 1 Group or our Pre-K Group. New KidSpeak, LLC clients may have to complete one to four individual sessions before beginning this group. This group has a classroom ratio of 1 adult to 3 kids. Spaces limited to 4 children. (16 sessions)
Friendship Camp 1 (ages 6 - 9) Monday and Wednesday 9:00 – 11:30
Our Friendship Camp 1 group blends classroom-based learning with playdate style activities designed for children with high receptive and expressive language skills that are about to enter kindergarten to 3rd grade. These children use and understand a higher level of language and are conversational; however, may have difficulty with emotional regulation, executive functioning, social/pragmatic skills, conversations that focus on others, making friends, and more. This group will focus on increasing each child’s communication, play, receptive language, emotional regulation, executive functioning, self-awareness, social/pragmatic, Theory of Mind (understanding others thoughts/feelings), conversational skills, and much more through the use of the SCERTS® Model (by Prizant, Wetherby, Rubin, and Laurent) and elements of Social Thinking® (by Michelle Garcia Winner). We accomplish these goals with the use of a fun schedule including: sensory play, group lesson, structured play, unstructured play, and much more. Children that are a fit for this group may also be a fit for our Pre-K Group, Social Schoolers, and Language and Typing. Friendship Camp 4 (ages 11 - 15) Monday and Wednesday 9:00 – 11:30
Our Friendship Camp 4 group blends classroom-based learning with playdate style activities designed for children entering 6th through 10th grade. These children use and understand high levels of language and are very conversational. This group will focus on increasing each child’s conversation skills, emotional regulation skills, executive functioning skills, self-awareness skills, social/pragmatic skills, Theory of Mind skills (understanding others thoughts/feelings), and much more through the use of the SCERTS® Model (by Prizant, Wetherby, Rubin, and Laurent) and elements of Social Thinking® (by Michelle Garcia Winner). We accomplish these goals with the use of a fun schedule including: group lesson times, structured and unstructured play times (i.e., games, gym, etc.), and more. Children that are a fit for this group may also be a fit for a variety of other groups including: Social Schoolers, Reading and Writing Group, Language and Typing, and/or Executive Functioning Group. Friendship Camp 5 (ages 14 - 19) Monday and Wednesday 10:00 – 12:30
Our Friendship Camp 5 group is a mixture of a classroom-based and a playdate/hangout-based program for teens who require more support for their emotional regulation, social communication, and conversational skills. The purpose of this program is to provide support for each child while increasing their language (expressive and receptive), Theory of Mind, social communication, conversational, and social pragmatic skills. We accomplish these goals through a fun schedule including; sensory activities, conversation, group lessons, snack, gym, art, games and more through the use of the SCERTS® Model (by Prizant, Wetherby, Rubin, and Laurent) and elements of Social Thinking® (by Michelle Garcia Winner). Children that are a fit for this group may also be a fit for our Social Schoolers and Language and Typing groups. This group has a classroom ratio of 1 adult to 3 kids. New KidSpeak, LLC clients may have to complete one to four individual sessions before beginning this group. Spaces limited to 3 children. (16 sessions)
Language and Typing (ages 8 - 13) Monday 1:30 – 4:00
Our Language and Typing group will explore these skills through a variety of fun activities on and off screen. This is a great group for kids that are “pecking” at the computer to type. Each child’s therapy plan will be 100% individualized for their current skills. This group will come with an additional fee to pay for any specialized online programs (not to exceed $100). More information on this will be provided at orientation. All children must bring their own laptop to group each day. Children that are a fit for this group may also be a fit for a variety of other groups. This group has a ratio of 1 adult to 4 kids. Spaces limited to 8 children. (8 sessions)
Executive Functioning Group (ages 8 – 16) Wednesdays 1:30 - 4:00
Our Executive Functioning Group is designed for kids who have challenges with their executive functioning skills at home and/or at school. Examples of EF skills addressed include: planning, organization, time management, working memory, flexibility, meta-cognition, perseverance, emotional regulation, task initiation, self-control, and attention. Each week we will be learning about 1 – 2 new portions of EF, reviewing past-learned concepts, combining concepts, and more. Children that are a fit for this group may also be a fit for a variety of other groups. Children will be paired with their best peer partners; therefore, we may have several smaller groups. This group has a ratio of 1 adult to 6 kids. Spaces limited to 10 children. (8 sessions)
Preschool 1 Group (ages 2 - 4) Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 –11:00
Our Preschool 1 Group is a classroom-based program focused on building language (expressive and receptive), play, social communication, emotional regulation, and classroom skills through evidence-based practices. This group is ideal for children who may be language delayed, language disordered, autistic, or have challenges with social communication and play skills. Children that would be a nice fit for this group are kids that have emerging skills within: verbal language, play skills, classroom skills, attention skills, and more. Children that are a fit for this group may also be a fit for our Preschool 2 Group. New KidSpeak, LLC clients may have to complete one to four individual sessions before beginning this group. This group has a ratio of 1 adult to 3 kids. Spaces limited to 3 children. (16 sessions)
Pre-K Group (ages 4 – 6) Tuesday and Thursday 9:00– 11:30
Our Pre-K Group is a classroom-based program designed for children with difficulties in their play skills, language skills (receptive and/or expressive skills), sensory/emotional regulation skills, social skills, early academic skills, attention skills, and more. Our daily schedule for this group may include: gym, circle, play, snack, math, language, writing, music, and more. This group will place an emphasis on pre-literacy skills, pre-writing skills, and early math concepts to help prepare them for pre-k, kindergarten, and 1st grade. This group will focus on increasing your child’s language skills (expressive and receptive), play skills, social communication skills, emotional regulation skills, classroom skills, early academic skills, and more with both peers and adults through the use of a variety of evidence-based practices. Children that are a fit for this group may also be a fit for a variety of other groups including: Preschool 2 and/or Friendship Camp Beginners. New KidSpeak, LLC clients may have to complete one to four individual sessions before beginning this group. This group has a classroom ratio of 1 adult to 6 kids. Spaces limited to 6 children. Social Schoolers (ages 7 – 18) Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 – 12:00
Our Social Schoolers group is a classroom-based program designed for children who have challenges with executive functioning skills, classroom skills, study skills, academic skills (math, reading, writing, etc.), social-emotional skills, and more. This group is for children who will be attending 2nd grade all the way through high school grade in the fall of 2025. There will be three main focuses of this group: 1) To maintain your child’s overall classroom skills; 2) To maintain their overall academic skills; and 3) To work on their overall social skills with their peers (if applicable). The children in this group are placed in small groups of 1- 3 kids with their best-fit peers for both social and academic activities (i.e., 2nd graders will not be grouped with 8th graders all day). Their academic activities are completed in small groups as well as within a 1:1 setting and are 100% tailored to the needs of your child. This group will eat lunch. Children that are a fit for this group may also be a fit for a variety of our Friendship Camp groups. The classroom ratio for this group is of 1 adult to 4 kids. Spaces limited to 10 children. Friendship Camp Beginners (ages 5-7) Tuesday and Thursday 1:00 – 3:30
Our Friendship Camp Beginners group blends classroom-based learning with play date style activities designed for children with high receptive and expressive language skills that are about to enter Kindergarten to 2nd grade. These children use and understand a high level of language. They may have difficulty with emotional regulation skills, executive functioning skills, social/pragmatic skills, conversations focusing on others, and more. Our Friendship Camp Beginners group will focus on increasing each child’s communication skills, play skills, receptive language skills, emotional regulation skills, executive functioning skills, self-awareness skills, social/pragmatic skills, Theory of Mind skills (understanding others thoughts/feelings), conversational skills, and much more through the use of the SCERTS® Model (by Prizant, Wetherby, Rubin, and Laurent) and elements of Social Thinking® (by Michelle Garcia Winner). Reading and Writing Group (ages 8 – 17) Tuesday and Thursday 1:30 - 4:00
Our Reading and Writing Group is designed for kids/teens who have challenges with reading comprehension and writing skills. This group will explore what it means to be a “reader” and a “writer.” Within our “Reading Sections” we will focus on understanding and remembering detail, understanding cause and effect relationships, understanding non-literal language, making predictions, understanding character perspective-taking, and more. Within our “Writing Sections” we will focus on using correct punctuation, capitalization, spelling, sentence structure, and more. Throughout the summer we will focus on writing different types of selections including: how-to’s, fun stories, about our day, about vacations, chapter summaries from a book, and much more. Children that are a fit for this group may also be a fit for a variety of other groups. This group classroom ratio of 1 adult to 4 kids. Spaces limited to 4 children. (16 sessions)
All groups focus on the individualized skills of each child and the group as a whole: language (expressive and receptive skills), social communication, emotional regulation, sensory needs, play, social play, executive functioning, and more. All of our groups are led by speech-language pathologists; speech-language pathologist assistants and/or speech-language pathologist graduate clinicians as supervised by a speech-language pathologist. The details of the groups are not 100% planned until registration is complete, as everything is 100% tailored to the children enrolled in the group.
There is a $100 registration fee for each group (plus the tuition payment). If you register for multiple groups you will receive a $25 registration fee discount for each additional group registration fee.
There are two other optional fees for families including: $250 fee if families want to receive weekly daily notes (given at the end of group) or $250 fee if families want to receive an end of semester summary. These fees are 100% optional.
If your child is not a current client of KidSpeak, LLC, they must participate within a speech and language evaluation (two hours - $500 or an intake interview (45 minutes - $175). Children who participate within an intake interview and wish to stay for fall 2025 group or individual therapy services, must complete a speech and language evaluation in August 2025. At that time they will be given a discount on their speech and language evaluation.
Some children may need to participate within individual therapy in the spring 2025 prior to starting the summer 2025 group, in order to prepare. You will know if your child needs to participate within these sessions during your intake interview/evaluation.
Registration is due by Friday, May 9, 2025.
Current KidSpeak, LLC clients may register early through early registration, which ends on Friday, January 31, 2025.
Prior to starting group, families will be provided with a parent orientation via voice memo/email. It is mandatory that families listen to the voice memo and review all documents prior to starting group.
