Laramie Martin, MS, CF-SLP Intern
I am a licensed SLP - Clinical Fellow who holds a Master of Science in Communication Disorders from Emerson College. I will complete my Clinical Fellowship at the end of the summer!
I started at KidSpeak in the Spring of 2023 as a graduate student, continued as an SLP-Assistant and is now a Clinical Fellow. I love the environment, children, and families at KidSpeak!
I have a passion for supporting children across diverse abilities and backgrounds. My areas of expertise include working with children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing and Deaf/Blindness using total communication strategies that incorporate both spoken language and sign language. I am also well-versed in the SCERTS model, executive functioning skills and supports, and developing and implementing fun and functional goals and activities that enhance academic, play, and life skills. I am also experienced in working with children who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and those with more complex medical needs. I have special interests in feeding therapy, traumatic brain injuries, and genetic syndromes. I strongly believes in a collaborative, strengths-based approach that empowers families and helps each child reach their fullest potential.
I have a diverse background in working with children and adults with disabilities that comes from working at a summer camp for individuals with special needs (Camp Summit), coaching special olympics athletes in swimming, tennis, and bowling, clinical practice, and from my brother who has Autism.
Outside of KidSpeak, I enjoy baking and sharing my treats with the clinic, paddle boarding, painting, and taking time to be outside and connect with nature! I love spending time with my cat Chewie, friends, and family, whether it be a fun themed brunch or having a Star Wars marathon!

Bailey Wood, MS, CCC-SLP
Hi all! My name is Bailey Wood and I have been with KidSpeak since fall of 2023. I earned both my Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), and I continue to pursue professional learning to stay current and inspired in my work. I believe in celebrating neurodiversity and supporting each child’s unique way of communicating and connecting with the world. My approach to therapy is playful, strengths-based, and relationship-driven—I aim to make every session fun, meaningful, and tailored to each child’s individual needs. I’m deeply committed to helping children build confidence in their communication skills, whether that’s through spoken language, social interaction, or play-based learning. I love collaborating with families and other professionals to create supportive, inclusive environments where kids can truly thrive.
Outside of work, I’m a proud cat mom to Wonton and I'm recently married to the coolest husband! I love spending time with my mom and close friends, reading, playing video games, and diving into new things to learn. I feel incredibly lucky to do work that brings me so much joy every day.

Jessica Cobbs, BS, SLPA
Hi! My name is Jessica Cobbs. I graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor of Science in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences and a minor in Psychology in Spring 2024. Before deciding to pursue a career in Speech Pathology, I worked as a Therapy Aide and Medical Scribe—roles that gave me valuable insight into the importance of communication and connection in clinical care.
I began my journey at KidSpeak in Fall 2023 as a volunteer, where I spent a year learning and observing the incredible work being done by the therapy team. From there, I moved into an office assistant role, working closely with Ms. Amanda and gaining a deeper understanding of the day-to-day operations and the heart behind the practice. In the summer of 2024, I officially transitioned into my current role as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA).
Since becoming an SLPA, I’ve continued to learn and grow every day through hands-on experience and mentorship from the amazing team at KidSpeak. One of the most rewarding parts of my role has been working directly with children to support their communication development in both fun and functional ways. I’ve especially enjoyed engaging in structured play sessions, modeling language through everyday routines, and practicing conversations to help children express themselves in creative and meaningful ways. I’ve also had the opportunity to work with some of our kids in schools, which has been so amazing to see and has given me a deeper understanding of how therapy can be adapted across settings and strengthened my ability to support each child’s unique needs. These experiences have built my confidence, flexibility, and creativity as a therapist—and reminded me daily why I chose this career path.
Outside of work, I enjoy fun arts and crafts like crocheting and exploring different kinds of music. Creative hobbies help me relax, stay inspired, and bring a little extra joy to each day. I’m also a proud dog mom to Bailey, my sweet golden retriever/spaniel mix who always keeps life fun and full of love!

Elizabeth Buchanan, MS, CCC- SLP
I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin, where I received my degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders.
Prior to beginning my speech-language pathology career, I was a healthcare consultant for almost 7 years. In this time, I sharpened my written and verbal communications, managed a team of consultants and their clients, and built professional relationships with employees of clients nationwide.
I later attended The University of Texas at Dallas to earn my Master of Science in Communication Disorders. My pediatric clinical experience throughout graduate school included a preschool language development program at Callier Richardson, two elementary schools within Garland ISD, and an outpatient clinic in Plano.
When I am not at KidSpeak, I am a school-based SLP for an elementary school in Lewisville ISD. I absolutely love the relationships I am able to foster with my speech students. It is so rewarding to see the progress my speech friends make and the connections they are able to make with their peers. I manage a caseload of about 55-60 students, ranging in severity and disabilities. Typically, my students have speech impairments in the areas of articulation/phonology, fluency, receptive language, expressive language, and pragmatic language (including autism spectrum disorder). I have also had the opportunity to mentor other speech-language pathologists and supervise graduate clinicians’ externships. It is rewarding to be able to consult with colleagues, students, and parents regarding the growth on therapy goals, the needs of my students, and everyone’s involvement in the remedial process.
I am originally from the DFW area, so this is where I have always called home. I live with my 9-year-old Yorkie, Finley. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, listening to live music, reading thrillers, and traveling; however, my passion is working with kids!
