Amanda Rollins, MS, CCC-SLP
I am a proud graduate of Texas A&M University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications in December 2002. In 2005, I completed my Master of Science in Communication Disorders at the University of Texas at Dallas.
The early years of my career were filled with rich, hands-on experiences across diverse settings—including the Early Services for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders program at UT Dallas, the feeding program at Our Children’s House at Baylor, and private practice. These formative roles gave me the opportunity to develop and lead a wide range of play, social, and language groups for children ages 18 months to 5 years. I also created individualized home and school programs, and collaborated with occupational therapists, physical therapists, psychologists, educators, and families to provide holistic care and support.
My professional emphasis began within my love for Autistic children but has grown to currently focus on Autism, language delays, language disorders, social communication disorders, pragmatic disorders, non-verbal learning disorder, ADHD, anxiety, dyslexia, selective mutism and more from 16 months to adult hood. For the past 20 years, I’ve partnered closely with families, caregivers, educators, siblings, and other professionals to create supportive, individualized environments that foster social, emotional, communicative, and academic growth.
In 2008, Laura and I co-founded KidSpeak, LLC with a shared mission: to provide family-centered therapy grounded in neurodiversity-affirming practices. Our work is rooted in the SCERTS® Model (by Prizant, Wetherby, Rubin, & Laurent) and incorporates key elements from Social Thinking® (by Michelle Garcia Winner). Our programs are designed to help children, teens, young adults and adults build skills in areas such as social communication, receptive and expressive language, play and joint attention, executive functioning, emotional regulation, perspective-taking, theory of mind, self-confidence, classroom readiness, relationship building and so much more.
At KidSpeak, we’ve cultivated a supportive, inclusive environment for children, families, therapists, and educators. We offer a wide array of services—individual and group therapy, school and home consultations, homework and homeschool facilitation, playdate facilitation, shadowing, and more—all uniquely tailored to meet the needs of each family. Our collaborative approach ensures that we’re always evolving and innovating based on the strengths, needs, and goals of the families we serve.
I live in North Dallas with my two beloved dogs: Lily (named after the legendary Bob Lilly) and Leon (in honor of the equally legendary Leon Lett). In my free time, I enjoy cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, going to brunch, spending time with family and friends, cooking, traveling (especially to the beach!), hosting gatherings, and soaking up life’s little joys.
Not everyone gets to say they truly love what they do—but I do. I feel incredibly fortunate to spend each day doing meaningful work with incredible children and families.
Laura Hagan, MS, CCC-SLP
Laura was born and raised in Waco, Texas. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology. In 2006 she received her Masters in Speech-Language Pathology from Texas Woman’s University.
At a young age, Laura always had an interest in neurodiversity, as her mother worked for an Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) program. For many years, Laura had the opportunity to observe therapy, attend the company’s holiday events, and play with the sweet kiddos.
Laura began to work with autistic children and their families in her early 20’s. She gained experience and knowledge about autism as well as different models of therapy. Laura especially loved working in the children’s homes and school environments, as well as creating relationships with the parents and teachers.
Before starting KidSpeak, Laura worked with an ECI company in DFW as well as an outpatient private practice, where she met Amanda. She worked with children and teens with a variety of different diagnoses and learning differences. In 2007, Laura began to learn about the SCERTS® Model from Amanda, and she was completely blown away with each child’s progress and with the family involvement that it allowed. Laura and Amanda wanted to be able to provide families with more and to help across all aspects of life. It was then, in 2008, that they decided to open KidSpeak.
In her 18 years of experience as an SLP, Laura has developed an interest in ADHD, anxiety disorders, emotional regulation, Theory of Mind, and Executive Functioning Skills with school-aged children and teens. She loves to help these clients increase their confidence and self-awareness; to help them work towards their own academic, relationship, and life goals; and to help them find and experience their joys in life. She also loves working with toddlers and young children with articulation and language difficulties and has a passion for educating the community about infant and child development, neurodiversity, and learning differences.
Laura lives in Dallas with her two children and two kitties. During her free time she enjoys going to concerts, the beach, baking, organizing, and laughing with her family and friends. She can’t wait to meet you and your family.
